What is Supervision?

Supervision is the interactive process between a supervisor and a coach/mentor to support of the ongoing professional development of that coach. The coach/mentor shares coaching/mentoring experiences with the supervisor to encourage reflection and collaborative learning.

The role of the supervisor is to:

  • Develop coach/mentor skills and abilities.
  • Provide support space to reflect on the experiences of working with clients.
  • Promote quality professional practice in accordance with standards and professional ethics.
